A comprehensive transaction risk assessment process
The risk assessment process includes: Client assessment, Transaction assessment, Asset assessment and draws on multiple sources – not only the leasing application, but also relationship history and external databases on creditworthiness and asset valuation.
Creditworthiness
Is the client reliable? Will they repay?
Data sources:
- Application data (income, employment, other liabilities)
- Relationship history: Existing client? Repayment record? Delinquencies?
- BIK (credit bureau): Credit history with other institutions
- BIG InfoMonitor: Debt records
- KRD: National debt register
- Public registries: KRS, CEIDG (for companies) – data verification
Assessment methods:
- Application scoring (points based on client attributes)
- Behavioral scoring (for existing clients)
- Ratings (A, B, C, D – risk categories)
- Decision automation (approve, reject, analyst review)
Financial parameters
Are the transaction parameters acceptable? Is the margin sufficient?
Parameters analyzed:
- Financing amount (within limits)
- LTV (Loan-to-Value): financing vs. asset value
- Term (not excessively long)
- Down payment (sufficient)
- Margin (economically viable)

- Per-client limits (maximum financing amount)
- Per-product limits (vary by asset type)
- Promotional terms (lower thresholds for campaigns)

Collateral value and liquidity
Is the asset properly valued? Could it be liquidated if needed?
Aspects assessed:
- Market value (current market price)
- Residual value (end-of-term value)
- Liquidity (secondary-market saleability)
- Technical condition (for used assets)
- Age and mileage (for vehicles)
- Depreciation (rate of value loss)
